On Friday, April 9th, Second Harvest announced the winning numbers for our first ever Second Harvest Hero Sweepstakes, presented by Moneris. Building off our successful Hero Raffle, the Hero Sweepstakes was open to Canadians across the country for the first time and helped provide immense support for our food rescue operations. This year, we had an amazing prize board with 20 prizes totalling over $30,000. Even more important, our prizes are fully donated, so all proceeds from ticket sales go directly to supporting our mission. Every ticket purchase helps fund the rescue and redistribution of good food across the country to non-profits and frontline social service agencies caring for families in need. We’ve worked hard to ensure that the Second Harvest Hero Sweepstakes continues to provide the best return for the odds on your ticket and the impact of your purchase.
This year, our supporters ensured that this year’s Sweepstakes was a triumphant success. In total, 25,495 tickets were sold, raising $89,830, which will help provide food for more than214,000 meals. We are thrilled for the outstanding support we received for the Sweepstakes and for our mission of “No Waste. No Hunger.”
